This case study is about lighting brass parts for pathway lights and the manufacturing process.
The manufacturing process for these path light parts
The path light body needs to be assembled with 5 parts(metal parts and plastic parts).
Deep holes are machined on the outside for mounting other lighting components and fixing on the lawn.
Other lighting components: are mainly processed by CNC turning and CNC milling. It is easy for us.

Purchase square brass tubing material.
Cutting the material into two parts of different lengths.
Welding the two brass pieces together ensures a strong bond.
Polishing the welded joint to make it smooth and mark-free. Polishing can smooth the surface of brass parts, giving them a bright metallic shine. It removes oxidation, stains, and minor defects, thereby improving corrosion resistance and extending the product life, and enhancing the adhesion of coatings or plating to ensure long-term effects and stability.

Surface Treatment:The purpose of surface treatment is to preserve the natural color of brass while reducing oxidation and fingerprints. Clear coating and Titanium oxide coating are the most common and effective methods.
Titanium Oxide Coating:
A titanium oxide film is applied to the surface of brass using chemical methods or PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) technology. This coating provides both fingerprint and oxidation resistance while preserving the brass's natural appearance. The titanium oxide coating is extremely thin and transparent, so it doesn't significantly alter the look of the brass, but it greatly enhances its resistance to stains and oxidation.
Clear Coating:
A transparent clear coating offers effective oxidation and fingerprint protection without changing the natural color of the brass. This coating forms a protective layer on the brass surface, preventing exposure to air, sweat, grease, and other external elements that could cause oxidation or leave fingerprints. Common clear coatings include polyurethane and acrylic lacquers, which offer good weather resistance.
- Challenges And Solutions:
After determining the process, let’s look at the machining challenges in this project and how JeaSnn solved these challenges.
We produced 3 samples according to the customer's design for them testing. After fitting, the customer reported that the base cracked.
The customer needed us to provide ideas to help them design the path light to solve the problem of cracking when the base is pressed into the tube.
JeaSnn’s Solution:
We suggest extending the brass base to better fit inside the tube and machining two threaded holes for screws to secure it.
The revised drawing was sent to the customer for confirmation. Once the customer approved the design, we quickly produced 3 samples within one day and shipped them for testing. The cracking issue has been resolved and put into mass production of the path light components.
